Publisher Top Hat Studios has announced the sequel to its retro-inspired platformer FROGUN, FROGUN ENCORE. FROGUN ENCORE will be filled with love and nostalgia for the PS1/N64 era of gaming as well similar to the first title in the franchise. The sequel will feature the same intrepid ruin explorer Renata and her best friend talking frog-gun that we saw in the first title.

The sequel builds upon the original title and features an expanded move-set and greater agility for a more refined in-game movement. You will be able to catapult off zip lines, twirl, and double jump, and launch yourself skywards by shooting grabbed enemies and objects downwards. The character development will be quite evident in the second title as Renata and Jake both have grown up and are now coming equipped with new moves and tricks.
While flying high in the skies on Hatter’s new plane, you will gain a new perspective on Renata’s world. As you are exploring the new areas, there is a chance that you might run into some old faces from the first game as well who will sell you hats. Probably the biggest addition to FROGUN ENCORE is the ability to play the entire game in local co-op. At any time in the campaign, a second player can jump in at any point and players can complete the game together. They can bounce off each other’s heads, race to the end, collect treasure together, and also defeat bosses together.

Three years have passed since Renata ventured deep into the lost ruins and saved her parents (and the world!) from Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies. Since then, it’s been a tradition to spend some time with Hatter and her former rival-turned-best-pal Jake – the friends she met on her original adventure – every summer… camping, hiking, and having fun in general.
However – one day, when they’re coming back from a hike in the jungle, they see Jake’s town attacked by the nasty Fly Bois! It seems like some of them are still loyal to Beelzebub, and under the command of the vengeful General Fluff, they’re scheming to use secret technology to bring the Lord of the Flies back to this world… so now, join Renata and Jake as they have to chase the flies all over the world to thwart their plan!
The game will also include a handy Photo Mode where you will be able to take pictures of the game however you like. Each level in the game will have plenty of collectibles as well. You will have coins that will allow you to purchase new cosmetic hats and costumes. Apart from this, you will be able to collect journal notes to learn more about the world, and General Fluff’s plan and different hidden challenges will test your skills as well and will reward you with emblems and more upon their completion.
